Aquamarine’s name comes from the Latin for seawater, which is said to calm waves and keep sailors safe at sea. March’s birthstone is also thought to enhance the happiness of marriages. The best gems combine high clarity, transparency, and blue to slightly greenish-blue hues.

His designs are elegantly modern, designed for life, and unmistakably David Ashton creations. His iconic ring stacks have been internationally recognised in Elle, Vogue, V&A, & the TATE.

In his younger years, David trained as a scientific and medical instrument maker in Cambridge and, consequently, as an aircraft engineer. Importantly, this gave him a unique perspective on precision manufacturing, which he then applied to jewellery making.
