Everything You Need to Know.

Commissioning or purchasing a piece of David Ashton jewellery is a personal and enjoyable experience, designed to be as rewarding as the finished piece itself.

From his studio in London’s OXO Tower, award-winning goldsmith David Ashton creates bespoke jewellery, engagement rings and wedding rings for clients throughout the UK and beyond. Whether you are looking for a unique engagement ring, a special commission, or wish to remodel existing jewellery, the process begins with a private consultation, either in person or remotely.

During this initial meeting, David will discuss your ideas, explain the possibilities, and guide you through the design process. You can learn more about bespoke commissions →

Once a design and quotation have been agreed, a 25% deposit secures your order and fixes the price. David will then begin handcrafting your jewellery in his London workshop using carefully selected natural gemstones and precious metals.

Most commissions are completed within six weeks, although more complex projects may take a little longer. Throughout the process, you deal directly with David, ensuring a highly personal experience from first conversation to final collection. However, if you’ve left things a little late, please get in touch. We’ll do everything we can to bring your vision to life perfectly on time

How Do You Ensure the Perfect Fit?

Creating a beautifully fitting ring is just as important as creating a beautiful design. For bespoke commissions, we provide a silver replica of your chosen ring, allowing you to wear it for several days before production begins. This simple but highly effective process accounts for natural fluctuations in finger size and ensures the finished piece feels every bit as perfect as it looks.

If your ring is intended as a surprise, we can often help discreetly determine the correct size. Alternatively, we can supply a stock-sized ring and arrange a complimentary size exchange after the proposal, ensuring the final fit is exactly right.

For returning clients, we maintain detailed records of previous commissions and purchases, allowing us to create perfectly matched additions and ensuring the correct fit whenever possible.
