Crafted with Integrity
At David Ashton Jewellery, sustainability is not a trend or marketing statement — it is a fundamental part of how we work, source, and create.
Every piece is handcrafted in London using responsibly sourced precious metals and carefully selected natural gemstones, chosen not only for their beauty but for the standards behind them. We believe fine jewellery should be made with integrity, transparency, and longevity in mind.
Our commitment is simple: to create jewellery that is as ethical and enduring as it is beautiful.
Ethically Sourced Natural Gemstones
We use only natural diamonds and gemstones, selected through stringent sourcing procedures, certification standards, and ethical selection processes. Every gemstone used in David Ashton jewellery is guaranteed to be 100% conflict-free and responsibly sourced.
For David, gemstones are a lifelong passion. With formal gemmological training through the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A), each stone is selected with exceptional care for its brilliance, quality, durability, and individuality.
We do not use lab-grown or artificially enhanced stones. We believe a diamond should remain a natural mineral created by nature — valued for its rarity, authenticity, and timeless character.
Responsibly Sourced Precious Metals
All bullion used in David Ashton jewellery is 100% recycled and responsibly sourced under the LBMA Responsible Gold Sourcing Assurance standards.
By working with recycled precious metals and accredited suppliers, we help reduce the environmental impact associated with newly mined materials while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Handmade in London — Never Mass Produced
Every David Ashton piece is handcrafted individually in London using traditional bench-making techniques refined over decades. Nothing is mass produced, cast in volume, or manufactured for quantity.
David’s background in scientific instrument making and aerospace engineering informs an approach rooted in precision, longevity, and uncompromising attention to detail. Many of the specialist tools used in the workshop are handmade by David himself, allowing for exceptional levels of accuracy and craftsmanship.
Jewellery should not be disposable. It should be made properly, worn daily, and treasured for generations.
Designed for Longevity
Sustainability also means creating jewellery that lasts.
David Ashton’s signature rub-over settings are designed not only for elegance but for durability and practicality. The smooth, claw-free design helps protect gemstones from damage while preventing snagging on clothing or hair.
Every design is created with comfort, strength, and long-term wearability in mind — jewellery intended to become part of everyday life and eventually an heirloom for future generations.
Authenticity Without Artifice
Every piece shown on our website and social media has been handcrafted by David Ashton and photographed in the London studio. Images are never AI-generated or digitally fabricated.
What you see is genuine craftsmanship, honestly presented.
A Personal Approach
Ethics extends beyond materials and processes — it is reflected in the way we work with our clients.
Every commission is a collaborative and personal experience, shaped around individuality, honesty, and trust. Whether visiting the studio in person or working remotely, clients are guided through the design process with transparency, expertise, and genuine care.
We believe meaningful jewellery begins with meaningful relationships.
Jewellery Made for Life
In an age of mass production and short-lived trends, David Ashton Jewellery represents a different philosophy: exceptional craftsmanship, responsibly sourced materials, and timeless design created to endure.
Handmade in London. Designed for life.
