A natural 0.49ct teal-green sapphire from Madagascar, rub-over set in platinum and framed by 0.24ct of natural brilliant-cut diamonds. The platinum setting contrasts with a 3.3 × 1.9mm 18ct rose gold band, bringing together cool teal, white diamond brilliance and warm rose gold.

About this ring

A 0.49ct natural teal-green sapphire from Madagascar forms the centre of this ring. Its colour is natural, without treatment or enhancement. David rub-over sets the sapphire in platinum, then frames it with 0.24ct of natural brilliant-cut diamonds.

The rub-over setting uses a smooth rim of platinum instead of claws. Therefore, there are no claws to catch, wear down or work loose. The setting is secure, comfortable and particularly suited to regular wear.

The cool platinum and diamonds contrast with the warmth of the 18ct rose gold band. Together, the three colours give the ring a distinctive character without making the construction complicated to wear.
