A vivid 1.04ct natural pink sapphire forms the centre of this substantial platinum ring. David surrounds it with 56 natural black diamonds and 45 natural pink sapphires, creating a graduated field of colour across the 4.5mm band.
The centre stone sits within a smooth rub-over setting, so there are no claws to catch on clothing, wear down or work loose. David pavé sets the smaller stones blind into solid platinum rather than drilling through beneath them. Therefore, the band retains more metal and strength.
Blind setting also leaves a smoother interior without open holes beneath the gemstones. As a result, soap and dirt have fewer places to collect and the stones are easier to keep clean. Platinum is naturally white, hypoallergenic and needs no plating.
