Pink Sapphire & Black Diamond Ring

This exquisite ring features a vivid 1.04ct natural pink sapphire, beautifully set in platinum and pavé-set with 56 brilliant-cut natural black diamonds and 45 brilliant-cut natural pink sapphires.

Bold, elegant, and unmistakably David Ashton, this design is a celebration of precision, colour, and craftsmanship.

Platinum is the ultimate white metal for everyday wear — naturally white, inert, and never requiring plating. Over time, it work-hardens, becoming stronger and more secure, making it a perfect setting for your most precious stones.

The innovative rub-over setting means there are no claws to catch or snag. It offers a smooth, comfortable feel while securely holding the gems in place and keeping them brilliantly clean — perfect for a ring that’s designed to be worn and loved every day.

This ring is an exceptional choice for an engagement piece and pairs seamlessly with any David Ashton wedding or eternity ring.

MORE DETAILS

Pink Sapphire & Black Diamond Ring.

Elegantly Modern. Unmistakably David Ashton.

This handcrafted platinum ring features a vibrant 1.04ct natural pink sapphire. It’s pavé-set with 56 black diamonds and 45 pink sapphires. The contrast creates a bold, modern look.

Made from platinum, this ring is ideal for daily wear. It’s naturally white, strong, and won’t tarnish. Platinum becomes stronger the more it’s worn, helping secure your gemstones for life.

The rub-over setting protects each stone. There are no claws to catch or bend. It’s smooth, secure, and easy to maintain.

The word “sapphire” can be misleading. It comes from the Greek sappheiros, which simply means “blue stone.”

Pure sapphire is actually colourless.

Its color comes from trace elements trapped in the crystal structure during formation. Different elements produce different colors:

  • Iron and titanium create blue.

  • Iron and chromium produce orange.

  • Vanadium gives purple.

  • Iron alone results in yellow or green.

  • Chromium causes pink—and when the concentration of chromium increases, the stone turns red and becomes a ruby.

Every ring is made by hand in our London workshop. Personalisation is available to make it truly yours.

Customisation Options:
Expertly handcrafted in London, this design is available in your choice of 18ct yellow gold, 18ct rose gold, or platinum. You can start with a timeless option, choosing a single diamond, sapphire or ruby from 0.2ct. Alternatively, for something more personal, you can create your own combination by pairing a gemstone-set band with a centre stone that reflects your individual style

David and Nicola Ashton are Gem-A qualified gemologists. We offer one-on-one consultations to help you choose the perfect stones.
