About this ring
A natural emerald is set in 18ct gold on a platinum ring, combining warm gold with the naturally white lustre of platinum.
David favours rub-over settings because a continuous rim of precious metal holds the centre stone securely without projecting claws. Consequently, the setting is comfortable to wear, does not catch on clothing and helps keep dirt away from the stone.
Undeniably beautiful, unfortunately soft and brittle, naturall emerads are not sutiabe for everyday wear. We protect them as much as possible, but care must be taken with all emarld jewellery.
David selects natural coloured gemstones for their individual character, colour and beauty. He carefully considers the relationship between the centre stone, setting and surrounding precious metal.
Its platinum has a naturally white colour, needs no rhodium plating and is an excellent choice for jewellery worn regularly.
