A vivid natural pink ruby held in a smooth platinum rub-over setting for a simple, modern and very wearable ring. Handmade individually in London by David Ashton, it David designed it to be elegant, comfortable and made for a lifetime of wear.
The natural rubies we choose them for rich, even colour, clarity and cut, balancing depth of red with brightness and life.
David favours rub-over settings because the smooth precious-metal rim securely holds the centre stone without projecting claws to catch on clothing or hair. The construction also reduces places where dirt, soap and lotions can collect, helping the stone stay cleaner and making the setting comfortable and virtually maintenance-free for everyday life.
David and Nicola have both studied with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) and successfully passed the Diamond Diploma, gaining the DGA qualification. Their training supports the technical and aesthetic guidance they give when comparing natural stones.
