Labradorite & grey pearl necklace

These grey freshwater pearls show a beautiful range of shades from lilac, to green & blue.  Each 5mm round with a lovely surface finish and lustre. Discover more about pearls here

Alternating with the fine labradorite briolette beads 7mm long. Labradorite is a feldspar, like a moonstone, the name coming from the first discovery in Labrador, Canada in 1770.  A variety of the feldspar-group mineral orthoclase. During formation, orthoclase and albite separate into alternating layers. When light falls between these thin layers it is scattered producing the phenomenon called adularescence. Therefore these beautiful beads show a range of ever-changing colours, from blue to green to gold.

Secured with a sterling silver ball catch. Notably strung on a multi-core beading cable making it very durable.
