A naturally coloured Tahitian pearl with beautiful lustre and subtle shades of grey and black is complemented by diamonds in a platinum ring. David Ashton handmakes his jewellery in his London workshop.
Gemstone quality
The pearl forms in a black-lip oyster and has not been dyed. Its rounded shape, lustre and changing overtones give this design its distinctive character. Our natural colourless diamonds follow our house standard of D/E colour, VVS clarity and Triple Excellent cut, polish and symmetry.

The platinum setting brings together the pearl and diamonds in a balanced, contemporary design.

David and Nicola hold the DGA qualification from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A). They can discuss the technical and aesthetic qualities of natural gemstones when choosing a stone for your commission.

As part of our sizing process, David first makes a silver trial ring for you to wear. This allows you to assess the size, width, proportions, during the bodies natural fluctuations. David can then ensure he makes the ring your perfect size.
David trained as a scientific and medical instrument maker in Cambridge and, subsequently, as an aircraft engineer. Importantly, this gave him a unique perspective on precision manufacturing, which he then applied to jewellery making.
