Tanzanite & pearl necklace.

Perfectly faceted natural fine Tanzanite with lilac pearls necklace.

Tanzanite is the violet-blue to blue-violet variety of the mineral zoisite. It is mined commercially only in one area: the Merelani Hills of Tanzania, where it gets its name. Just like other coloured gemstones, vivid, strongly coloured tanzanites are highly sought after. Lighter-toned pastel hues are more plentiful and affordable than vivid colours and have a subtle appeal. Tanzanite is a December birthstone and a gem for the 24th wedding anniversary.

Because gemstones are a lifetime passion, David & Nicola have both studied at the internationally recognised  Gem-A and have passed the prestigious DGA. In his younger years, David trained as a scientific and medical instrument maker in Cambridge and, consequently, as an aircraft engineer. Importantly, this gave him a unique perspective on precision manufacturing, which he then applied to jewellery making.
