About this Natural Yellow Diamond Rub-over Set Platinum and Gold Ring
David handmade this contemporary ring in his London workshop, combining precise traditional bench work with a clean, understated design. At its centre, a 0.06ct natural fancy yellow diamond brings a warm, lively flash of colour. Cool platinum surrounds the diamond, while the 18ct yellow gold band provides a warm contrast and keeps the beautiful natural yellow diamond firmly in focus.
David favours rub-over settings because they have no projecting claws to catch on clothing. The smooth metal surrounds and securely holds the diamond, helps protect it from everyday knocks and prevents dirt from collecting around projecting claws. This practical, maintenance-free construction allows you to wear the ring every day without worrying about the setting. David chose platinum for the setting because it is naturally white, requires no plating and work-hardens with wear.
David and Nicola both hold the DGA qualification from Gem-A and personally select gemstones for their natural beauty, colour, clarity, cut and suitability for each design. We use only natural diamonds and natural gemstones; we never use lab-grown diamonds. We use 100% recycled, responsibly sourced precious-metal bullion and follow our strict conflict-free standards when choosing diamonds and gemstones.
